Originally known as the Glade Candy Company, founded by James Glade in Utah in 1916, it was initially a full-line candy manufacturer. However, the company's unique "whipped" style of salt water taffy gained significant renown. In 1994, James's grandson, David Glade, then president, strategically rebranded the company as "Taffy Town, Inc." to reflect their exclusive focus on taffy excellence.
