Bonomo

Bonomo Turkish Taffy, famed for its unique "smack it, crack it" eating experience, boasts a rich history dating back to 1912. While not invented by the Bonomo family, who acquired the rights in 1936, they were instrumental in its widespread popularity. Originally sold in large sheets requiring a hammer to break, the Bonomo family later introduced the familiar candy bar format in the late 1940s. This allowed consumers to easily "crack" the nougat-like candy into smaller pieces. After a brief discontinuation by Tootsie Roll Industries in 1989, a dedicated fan base led to its triumphant return in 2010, ensuring its nostalgic charm continues to delight new generations.
