Old Dominion Peanut has been a staple in confectionery since its founding in 1913 by the Worsham family in Norfolk, Virginia. Initially focused on peanut, cashew, and pecan candies, the brand built its reputation on classic recipes, particularly its famous peanut brittle. The company's original factory in Norfolk, a hub of its manufacturing for decades, was a landmark in the local community. After a devastating fire in 2007, the company eventually was acquired by Hammond's Candies in 2013, which has continued to uphold the traditional recipes and quality that define the brand.
