Nestlé’s origin traces back to 1866 in Vevey, Switzerland, when German-born pharmacist Henri Nestlé launched his revolutionary "Farine Lactée" (milk flour). Troubled by the era's high infant mortality, his new milk-based baby food was developed for infants who could not be breastfed. The company later merged with the Anglo-Swiss Condensed Milk Company in 1905, and in the 1930s, Nestlé responded to a Brazilian government request to create an instant coffee solution, leading to the invention and 1938 launch of Nescafé. The "nest" logo, based on Henri Nestlé’s family crest, has symbolized nourishment for over 150 years.
