Founded by August Goetze and his son William as the Baltimore Chewing Gum Company, their journey into iconic caramels began in 1917 with the development of a soft caramel candy known as "Chu-ees." This soon evolved into their signature creation, Caramel Creams, aka "Bull's Eyes" featuring a chewy caramel exterior and a creamy center. Goetze's pivoted entirely to caramel production in the 1940s and remains a family-owned and operated business, now in its sixth generation, upholding traditions like the original vanilla cream recipe introduced in 1918.
